Chevron belts

A profiled belt carries its relief through the whole route. Cleaning must match the geometry: rib pitch and height decide whether the filament works the surface between the ribs.

Smooth and chevron belts at the contact zone: ribs and profile pitch.

What to check first

  • The belt profile type and its actual condition after wear.
  • Rib pitch and height — from documentation or measurement.
  • Temperatures: profiled belts often have their own documentation limits.

Inspection sequence

  1. Check the belt profile against the belt manufacturer documentation.
  2. Measure rib pitch and height at several points.
  3. Check how the installed cleaning follows the relief: marks on ribs and in grooves.
  4. Compose the request with the profile stated explicitly — the assistant builds the template.

Scenario limits

SituationWhat to consider
Heavy profile wearThe actual geometry differs from the datasheet; measurement is more honest than the old datasheet.
High ribs and narrow groovesReaching the surface is a brush design question; the manufacturer decides from profile data.
Profile across the whole widthThe working brush length must match the actual width of the relief.
