Sources and methodology

How an article earns its place on the site: source rules, property statuses and handling of corrections.

Source rules

A factual claim about a specific product requires a primary source: a datasheet, an official manufacturer catalog or a substantiated technical document. Industry materials serve to verify terminology, not to copy texts or attribute properties.

Property statuses

verified — the property is confirmed by a primary source with a check date. illustrative — a conventional value used for explanation (tool examples, diagrams). unknown — no data; an honest mark, not an omission.

Well-known formulas

v = π·D·n, v_rel = |v1 − v2| and the integer geometry of sections are standard kinematics and arithmetic. They need no “source”, but their use is bounded by the caveats on the tool pages.

Corrections

Errors are fixed in the text with the article date preserved; substantial corrections are noted on the article page. The site does not keep an automated revision history.
