Bristle is a consumable: it wears out, and cleaning quality drops long before the unit fails. The task of operations is to notice the moment and prepare the replacement data.

Wear signs

The over-bristle diameter has visibly decreased against the new roller; cleaning leaves material traces on the belt return side; the contact has become uneven — marks only at the edges or in the middle. Unevenness should also be looked for in pressing and in the unit geometry.

Preparing the replacement

Take the measurement map: outside diameter, core diameter, working and total lengths, seatings and bearings. Photograph the worn bristle and, if possible, attach a sample. For a sectional design check the layout, for speed — the peripheral speed estimate. Compose the request so the new roller fits without reworking the bearings.
